Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops, and manufactures leading-edge blood glucose monitoring technology for use in both home and hospital settings, including our revolutionary Freestyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System.
In our Centre of Excellence in Witney, we design, develop, and manufacture test strips and biosensors which are used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes.
As a result of strong business growth, industry-leading product development in the biosensor business, and a long-term commitment to manufacturing and innovation in our Witney Centre of Excellence, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Quality Engineer, Technical to join our expanding highly skilled team.
As a Quality Engineer, Technical, you will:
1. Support the monitoring and compliance of the Quality Management System through the review, approval, and impact assessment of changes or corrections to documentation, processes, or systems.
2. Support making Quality/Compliance decisions on products during development, validation, processing, manufacturing, testing, monitoring, and packaging.
3. Ensure compliance with site and divisional policies and procedures.
4. Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for audits, cross-functional meetings, and projects.
5. Identify, develop, and implement improvement activities for ADC quality systems.
6. Ensure all communications and behaviours align with ADC core values and the Abbott Code of Conduct.
7. Check and ensure compliance with the ADC quality system, good manufacturing practices, and regulatory requirements.
8. Liaise with other departments as needed.
9. Assist in projects to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the quality system and product quality.
10. Ensure compliance with EHS regulations and Abbott standards.
11. Maintain training records and adhere to company policies and procedures.
12. Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in line with 5S principles.
Key Responsibilities:
13. Training and Compliance: Check and complete own training records/status in a timely manner and perform functions in a manner that is compliant with the quality training system. Support the training of team members on procedures, processes, and the quality management system, ensuring they are well-informed and competent.
14. Documentation and Records: Ensure the completion of records strictly adheres to defined procedures and quality standards, and that they are stored securely and appropriately.
15. Project Management: Project manage cross-functional team activities to agreed timelines and align with business and customer needs using appropriate risk management tools to prioritize activities and level of effort required.
16. Cross-Functional Relationships: Maintain successful cross-functional relationships with departments such as R&D, Technical, Engineering, Operations, and Regulatory Affairs to achieve all project goals.
17. Quality Management System: Support projects for the development, implementation, and improvement of ADC quality management system to ensure effective and compliant processes and procedures which meet the needs of ADC and its customers.
18. Audits and Meetings: Support audits, cross-functional meetings, and projects both at site level and across the division for the quality management system.
19. Health and Safety: Responsible for own and support the team's Health and Safety within the working environment; highlight opportunities for improvement to EHS performance.
20. Team Management: Responsible for direct reports, monitor and assist in the daily activities, including monitoring team performance, training, and promotion of development. Liaise with the department Lead concerning recruitment activities and maintaining staff levels in line with department needs.
Qualifications:
21. Education: Secondary level education necessary including English and Math or equivalent.
22. Prior experience in the development and/or manufacture of regulated products to ensure familiarity with cGMP and/or ISO Quality System requirements.
