Job Description
We have a new opportunity to be part of our Facilities team in the role of Facilities Maintenance Engineer.
Responsibilities:
* Performing preventive maintenance tasks and repairs on the BMS, mechanical, HVAC, compressed air, fire suppression and electrical systems to ensure their optimal functioning and longevity.
* Regularly inspecting buildings, equipment, and systems to identify issues, defects, or potential hazards.
* Experience with triage and first line repairs of Autoclaves, CNC machines, lathes and routers.
* Diagnosing problems with equipment or systems and implementing appropriate solutions to resolve issues efficiently.
* Responding to maintenance emergencies, such as power outages, leaks, or equipment failures, and taking prompt action to mitigate risks and minimize downtime.
* Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and equipment inventories to track performance and compliance.
* Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards to maintain a safe and healthy working environment for occupants and employees.
* Assisting in the development of maintenance budgets, monitoring expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.
* Assessing the condition of equipment and recommending upgrades, replacements, or modifications to improve efficiency, reliability, or safety.
* Providing training and guidance to junior engineers, quality inspectors and technicians.
* Identifying areas for process improvement and implementing measures to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and optimize resource utilization.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
* Possess an excellent working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
* Highly organized and analytical.
* Knowledge of workshop health, safety, and environmental controls.
* Ability to read machine OEM manuals and technical documents and interpret into usable systems.
* Previous experience as a maintenance engineer or similar.
* To be a collaborative team player who is self-motivated and to motivate others to thrive in a challenging environment.
* Ability to calmly and confidently work under pressure to achieve tight targets and deliver results within required timescales.
* To communicate effectively, positively, and respectfully with all colleagues.
