Who we’re looking for
Seat Unique is looking for a technically strong Finance Manager who will be a cornerstone of our finance function. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our financial data while creating and continuously improving sustainable and scalable processes and controls. This role will be reporting to the Head of Finance and will ultimately take responsibility for operational finance.
We're in the live events business, which means in-person events are our core. This translates to our company culture and this role requires the candidate to be in the office five days a week at our London HQ. This in-person environment fosters agility. Being together allows our team to make quick decisions and adapt to the constant changes in our industry.
Requirements
Responsibilities
Your role will involve:
* Management Accounts: Prepare timely monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary that supports senior management decision-making.
* Revenue Recognition and reconciliation: Ensure accuracy of sales and profit numbers with the wider commercial team.
* Year-End Financial Statements: Lead the year-end financial statement preparation process with our external accountants and ensure timely and accurate filing in compliance with relevant regulations.
* VAT and Tax Compliance: Handle all aspects of VAT and tax preparation and filing, ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations and identifying opportunities for tax optimisation including R&D tax credits.
* Working Capital and Cash Flow management: Manage working capital effectively and oversee cash flow, maintaining liquidity and providing regular updates to support decision-making.
* Budgeting and Forecasting: Provide insight and analysis for the yearly financial budget and quarterly reforecasts.
* Team Management: Supervise and develop junior members of the finance team, providing guidance and support to ensure the finance team operates efficiently.
* Process Improvement: Work with the Head of Finance to implement process improvements that drive scalability and operational efficiency within the finance function.
Skills & Experience
* While these qualifications are highly regarded, we appreciate the value of diverse experiences. You don't need all of them, but they could include:
o A passion for live events
o Qualified Accountant (ACA preferred)
o Previous experience in audit is a plus.
o Advanced excel skills.
o Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
o Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
o Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

* Xero and Salesforce experience
* Inventory management experience
Benefits
Target compensation package:
£55k - £65k + quarterly bonus + share options + benefits.
Final offers may differ from the target compensation package, taking factors such as experience level and skill set into consideration.
