We have an exciting development opportunity for an experienced Mental Health Nurse/ Social worker/Occupational Therapist on permanent post to join our established Early Memory Diagnosis and Support Service as Deputy Community Manager. You will be part of the countywide Early Memory Diagnosis and Support Service. You will be delivering leadership support to the innovative new model of community service to deliver memory assessment and support for service users. To work in collaboration with the Operational Manager, to ensure the highest standards of practice and service delivery. To provide day to day management, leadership, and supervision to a multi- disciplinary EMDASS team. The Deputy Community Manager will manage nurses, administrative staff, ensuring that the needs of service users are met through the effective deployment of these staff. The Deputy Community Manager will contribute at a local level to the development and implementation of policies and procedures. The Deputy Community Manager may on occasion deputise for the Operational Manager in his or her absence, as agreed with the Service Line Leader. The Deputy Community Manager will ensure, in collaboration with other professional colleagues that professional practice meets standards as set by HPFT and/or professional statutes and bodies., The post of Deputy Community Manager will be based in Rosanne House, Welwyn Garden City and will be providing leadership support to East and North part of Early Memory Diagnosis and Support Service. The post holder will support the other Deputy Community Manager and the Operational Manager in the day to day operational management of east and north emdass team. The post holder will be working together with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver a high standard of care and remains complaint with MSNAP Accreditation. The post holder is responsible for fostering a friendly and supportive team, and staff development is a priority. By taking this post you will have a Personal Development Plan and regular supervision to support this., To plan, prioritise and manage the delivery of pre-diagnostic support, memory assessment, diagnosis, treatment and post-diagnostic support to service users suspected with dementia within Hertfordshire, including overseeing referrals and ensuring that there is an even and appropriate distribution of work across the team. To oversee referrals and the allocation of service users to workers, ensuring that caseloads are monitored, and managed. To ensure that there are adequate staff numbers organised appropriately around service user needs and to incorporate this into rota planning. To ensure that risks relating to service users, unmet needs and to the work environment are assessed and managed appropriately, ensuring that all team members know and understand their role in risk management. To provide operational supervision and make arrangements for appropriate professional and clinical supervision to be available to all team members. To implement and monitor relevant operational policies and protocols, team systems and processes for the effective operation of his/her team. To ensure quality of care standards and procedures which support the Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Trust strategy and the standards are maintained to high standard to remain compliant with MSNAP accreditation standards. To monitor the waiting list and ensuring that the team's activities are targeted to service users, fulfilling the agreed criteria. To ensure the continued professional development of all team members through annual Personal Development Plan. To maintain the their own professional registration and development. In collaboration with the Service Line Leader, to undertake the timely recruitment selection, appointment, and induction of team members. To manage the delegated team budget with respect to operational and service delivery costs. To effectively manage all aspects of the team's time i.e. Duty Rota, Time worked, Annual Leave via the E Roster system. To monitor and manage, in conjunction with the Operational Manager, all staff sickness and absences. To act for or on behalf of the Operational Manager as required from time to time in accordance with local agreements

* Degree with experience of post graduate level study or the equivalent experience

* Teaching/training experience, Management of staff in a multi-professional setting Minimum of three years post registration experience, two of which must be as a band 6
* Detailed awareness of issues including - legislation, DoH guidance, NPSA, PEAT, CQC, NHSLA, Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act including an understanding of standards, dementia, physical health
* Ability to provide clinical supervision, appraisal, preceptorship and staff support methods.
