Job Description: We’re looking for a creative and skilled public relations professional to join our global PR team. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of crafting and executing cutting-edge communications programs to elevate Vertex’s corporate vision, brand value and industry solutions. As a Senior Public Relations Manager, you will play a critical role in helping grow Vertex's reputation as a leading global tax technology company and trusted provider. With a focus on building awareness on Vertex solutions for the growing complexity surrounding value-added tax and e-invoicing for global businesses. You will develop and execute strategic PR programs that advance our business objectives through paid and earned media coverage, thought leadership, and influencer programming. You’re skilled at taking complex information and molding it into impactful stories that pique the interest of the right audiences with a track record of success. As an integral part of the global PR team, you’ll be a key point of contact across functions and regions. You have a strong executive presence, and understand how to navigate complex and matrixed organizations, build bridges across functions and regions, and deftly manage agencies and resources. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: Produce goals-oriented and measurable public relations campaigns to elevate the Vertex brand as we continue to grow our business in global regions Plan, implement and optimize PR and communications programs, with a specific focus on technology, vertical industries and executive thought-leadership Convey business strategies and complex technologies to audiences in compelling ways Develop and execute public relations strategies targeting European markets while collaborating with global PR teams Write and edit a variety of communications materials including talking points, media pitches, articles, blogs and presentation scripts for external audiences Generate media coverage for product and industry solutions, as well as corporate thought leadership, constantly re-energizing the brand narrative to increase the company’s share of voice Manage the execution of PR programs across a global network of PR and research agencies, industry associations, freelance writers and other influencers Maintain strong relationships with relevant and up-to-date media contacts in key trade and vertical outlets in globally Proactively assess trending stories and news, monitor competitive positioning, and analyze potential issues to surface story angles and media opportunities to pursue Lead PR efforts to support cross-functional marketing initiatives, including product launches, GTM programs and industry events Collaborate with Global Social Media and Digital Marketing teams to incorporate SEO strategies into content for corporate website and social media channels Own and manage press release calendar, working and coordinating with internal partners like Solutions Marketing, Partner Marketing, Investor Relations and Corporate Communications Regularly monitor media engagement and other established marketing KPIs to optimize current tactics and find opportunities for new solutions Track, analyze and report on media coverage and program efficacy to inform future campaigns and plans to ensure they are in line with intended outcomes and business objectives Work closely with Corporate Communications on strategies for crisis readiness and response Implement a comprehensive strategy to amplify the reach and impact of media coverage, speaking opportunities and thought leadership Engage senior leaders strategically, and with confidence, especially in establishing and securing buy-in for a consistent communications strategy Research and monitor industry trends and relevant topics for use in preparing talking points, presentations, and other communications on specific topics Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A Knowledge, skills and abilities: Highly organized and self-motivated individual who will oversee timely, first-rate execution Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a keen eye for detail Media savvy with knowledge of technology and business media landscapes Ability to master the Vertex tone of voice and simplify complex concepts Ability to work under pressure to adhere to tight, last-minute deadlines Excellent interpersonal skills for establishing solid relationships at all levels to support or initiate innovative practices with cross-functional teams in a global environment Understanding of key trends and market dynamics of industries relevant to Vertex, ensuring storytelling and media outreach are relevant and compelling Naturally curious, versatile learner, open to change and knows when to ask for direction Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity Experience mentoring early career team members Education, Training and experience: 6 years of PR or communications experience working in a fast-paced technology company or agency.
