Outfit Engineer
Client: BAE Systems
Location: Scotstoun
Hourly Rate: £34.14 PAYE or £45.05 Umbrella
Duration: 6 months
Working Arrangements: 1-2 days on site, could be less for the right candidate
About the Role:
We are looking for an Engineer to lead engineering activities and support the integration of outfitting systems on naval and commercial shipbuilding projects. This role involves ensuring safety, quality, and technical excellence while managing a team of engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead design and integration activities for outfitting systems, ensuring alignment with standards and quality requirements.
2. Manage a team of engineers and provide technical leadership.
3. Support product safety and ensure compliance with ship safety requirements.
4. Collaborate with teams to resolve technical challenges and support build and commissioning phases.
What We're Looking For:
1. Experience in engineering, preferably in a ship design or defence-related industry.
2. Strong leadership and communication skills.
3. Proficiency in CAD tools such as AutoCAD or FORAN is desirable.
4. Relevant degree or equivalent experience.
