EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The Technical Systems Controller role is crucial within the Technical Department, working both within a team and independently to ensure food safety, quality, and legislative compliance whilst striving to improve and refine systems for better control and consistency of information and processes.
Assisting the Technical department in maintaining a comprehensive food safety and quality manual of policy, procedure, data capture, and work instruction to ensure the production of safe, quality, and legal products.
BASIC FUNCTIONS:
1. Supporting the company and department during day-to-day operations, customer visits, and accreditation audits.
2. Auditing the manufacturing process and systems for compliance.
3. Auditing the process paperwork for accuracy of data.
4. Maintaining food safety and quality systems across departments.
5. Liaising with the senior management team on technical matters.
6. Maintaining the supplier approval and related systems.
7. Supporting the company HACCP team.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Auditing company processes and systems supporting internal audits.
2. Auditing process paperwork to ensure correct completion.
3. Liaising with company departments to ensure systems are used as per documented procedure.
4. Maintaining supplier approval systems, specifications, and related risk assessments.
5. Representing the company effectively on all technical queries from customers and auditing bodies.
6. Reviewing, updating, and creating procedures, capture sheets, and work instructions.
7. Training company personnel at all levels in new and modified documents.
8. Ensuring agreed actions from audit non-conformances are completed, documented, and the auditing body is responded to in a timely manner.
9. Supporting targeted project teams to focus on specific short-, medium-, and long-term goals.
10. Carrying out routine supplier traceabilities, testing, and challenges as identified by risk assessment.
11. Auditing and updating HACCP flow diagrams as required.
12. Assisting the Technical and other departments in day-to-day activities.
