Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer
Location: Hybrid working, HO based in Blakemere Village, Cheshire
Hours: Full-time, minimum 40 hours per week (may include occasional evening/weekend/Bank Holiday work)
Reporting to: Paul Horwood, UK Head of Farm IVC (or as appointed by IVC)

About Amivet: Amivet is one of Great Britain's leading specialist providers of veterinary export health certificates and advice for the export of food and other products of animal origin. With a dedicated team of Official Veterinarians (OVs) and Certification Support Officers (CSOs) throughout the country and a central support team based at our Head Office in Northwich.
Since joining the IVC Evidensia group in June 2022, we have continued to build our reputation while benefiting from being part of a larger group. We are now looking for a dynamic and experienced Managing Director or CEO to drive our plans for expansion and diversification, leading our exceptional team towards continued growth and success.
The Role: As the Managing Director/CEO, you will be responsible for the overall strategic direction, growth, and operational performance of Amivet. This is a key leadership role where you will collaborate with the senior management team to shape the future of the company, ensuring it thrives in an evolving and competitive market. You will also play a critical role in maintaining a culture of trust, empowerment, and excellence across our team, with a focus on remote working.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide strategic advice to the Group to ensure an accurate view of market trends and future company growth.
* Lead the development and execution of business strategies to achieve the goals set by the board and shareholders.
* Oversee the creation and implementation of business plans, ensuring cost-effective operations and marketing activities.
* Lead expansion efforts into new markets and sectors.
* Ensure the security and compliance of the company’s digital business.
* Provide leadership and management to ensure high standards of service to clients and staff, contributing to sustainable profitability.
* Manage financial performance, including achieving EBITDA objectives and budget goals.
* Ensure efficient use of resources and compliance with Group purchasing, procurement, and quality policies.
* Foster a positive culture by providing leadership, guidance, and development opportunities for staff.
* Promote the business and ensure proper marketing and promotional efforts to protect the competitive position.
* Maintain compliance with all relevant regulatory and legal requirements, including health and safety and veterinary codes of conduct.
* Work collaboratively with senior managers to support the company’s success.

* Proven experience managing an SME, with a demonstrated ability to lead organisational change.
* A strategic mindset, with the ability to see the bigger picture and make key business decisions.
* A successful track record of entering new markets, sector diversification, and achieving business growth.
* Strong financial acumen and experience in managing budgets.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging a diverse range of stakeholders across different media.
* A history of working within a highly regulated environment, including experience with tenders and contracts.
* A leadership style that empowers teams, fosters trust, and promotes excellence in performance.
