You will have an SVQ2 or willing to undertake SVQ2 assessment to achieve award.
Responsibilities
You will assist in providing a 24-hour response service for vulnerable older people, people with physical disabilities, people with mental illness or people with learning disabilities, whose independence in the community is supported by an alarm call system. You will provide a locally based mobile service to Sheltered Housing tenants when full-time Wardens are off duty.
The Individual
You will have past and present caring experience to a high standard in life or work, good written/oral communication skills, the ability to work as a team member, work alone and use own initiative. You will have assessment skills and be able to understand and meet the needs of people living in the community. Requirement for further training and flexibility is essential as you must be able to work various shift patterns, including evenings, weekends and nights. You will have a full current driving licence. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
