He loves listening to music, painting, sensory activities and playing games with his two younger brothers. Harry also enjoys spending time outdoors where he can listen to the birds and all the sounds of nature. Harry has significant complex care and medical needs; he is totally reliant on others to meet all his needs and is supported by a dedicated care team providing 2:1 24/7. Harry has cerebral palsy, dysphagia, epilepsy (VNS in situ, however, will experience regular seizures), a PEG for all nutrition, fluids, and medication, and requires suctioning. He has a visual impairment, using Eye Gaze Technology to support his communication and is a wheelchair user. He is also susceptible to chest infections, and chest physio is implemented daily and cough assist. He is at the heart of a loving and supportive family, his parents recognise that his team of support workers are instrumental in his overall development, and they ensure their home is a pleasant and professional working environment. Overview of role: As Harry’s Support Worker you will assist with all aspects of his health, care and medical needs. Supporting him in his home, school environment and the community. Harry has a busy schedule with therapy, appointments, and activities; your role will be to assist and facilitate him to participate in all aspects of his daily routine and family life. Training is provided, however due to his level of needs, you must come to this role with complex care and medical experience; a large part of this role involves clinical care. The role can be offered as a part-time or full-time permanent contract, please get in touch with your availability. Overtime available to cover staff leave. Team members will be asked to travel to support Harry on holidays in the UK and abroad.
