Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Legal Entity Control team in Glasgow. In this role you will focus on the external financial reporting for our Reinsurance division. Your key responsibilities will include assisting with statutory reporting, audit support, and ensuring compliance with local country-specific requirements.
For our UK entities, you will be responsible for preparing statutory accounts, board reports, and regulatory submissions. For our international entities, your role will adapt to meet varying business needs and local tax and regulatory requirements. This may involve working closely with local finance teams or third-party providers to ensure precise and timely reporting.
How you'll make an impact
* Assist with fulfilling external financial reporting requirements for our Reinsurance division, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with the broader Finance and Tax teams, as well as across the Reinsurance division internationally.
* Provide comprehensive support to external auditors both in the UK and overseas, and coordinate the audit process as needed to ensure efficiency and thoroughness.
* Prepare statutory reports, ensuring they meet all regulatory standards and deadlines.
* Prepare and compile board reports.
* Prepare regulatory reports, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
* Support the establishment and ongoing maintenance of a centralised statutory adjustment ledger for our international entities, enhancing financial accuracy and transparency.
* Investigate and document accounting differences between local GAAP and US GAAP, providing clear explanations and solutions.
* Contribute to ad-hoc projects, offering financial expertise and insights to support various initiatives.
About you
* Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CA/CIMA or equivalent)
* Preferably experienced with UK GAAP, US GAAP, and IFRS
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
* Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
* Eligible to work in the UK.
