We are currently seeking a Fitter to be based at our Milton Keynes site; this will include travel to our other five sites based in the home counties area.

Key Responsibilities
The objective of this role is to support the site's Maintenance plan & improve equipment reliability by carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance.
* Support the operations teams and be a central part of the maintenance team by carrying out planned and corrective maintenance on the plant as directed by your team leader or managers.
* Receive work instructions for routine planned and corrective maintenance and carry out the duties as written or directed.
* Work within a team or singly as required by your immediate person in charge.
* Ensure all activities are carried out within the company requirements of safety, environment, and quality and perform other duties as requested by your manager.
* Carrying out planned, preventive, and reactive mechanical maintenance to production plant and equipment.
* Specifically, removing, repairing, and reassembling conveyors, rollers, and side skirts. Knowledge of pumps, motors, pulleys, bearings, shafts, gearboxes, pneumatics, and hydraulics is essential for this role.
* Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental impacts of the role.
* Mechanical fitting and maintenance of equipment including conveyors, pumps, pipes, valves, filter systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, gearboxes, etc.
* Welding and burning for fabrication and maintenance.
* Use of pulling and lifting equipment.
* Using workshop equipment.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Completed a recognized mechanical engineering qualification (desirable)
* Essential experience working on heavy plant, fixed and/or mobile
* Full driving licence due to travelling to other sites
* Experienced in the use of workshop equipment
* Experience and understanding of mechanical fitting and maintenance of equipment including conveyors, pumps, pipes, valves, filter systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, gearboxes, etc.
* Competency in basic Multi Skilling
