About the role: The TransPennine Route Upgrade (TRU) is a transformative, multi-billion-pound programme that will revolutionise rail travel across the Pennines, enhancing journeys between Manchester, Huddersfield, Leeds, and York. As a Possession Delivery Manager for the TRU programme, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our customers experience the highest standards of service, successfully delivering customer handling plans and keeping our network running effectively, even when key railway lines are closed. Your ability to keep our customers moving with as little disruption as possible to their journey will be vital. The TRU Customer Delivery Team is a groundbreaking collaboration, where colleagues from both Northern and TransPennine Express come together to lead the industry’s response in delivering exceptional customer service during the upgrade. In this role, you’ll join a team of Possession Delivery Managers to drive the tactical planning and delivery of customer handling plans, keeping customer feedback central to shaping the TRU journey. You will be responsible for: · Customer Handling & Coordination: Implement tailored customer handling plans for TRU disruptive possessions, coordinating with train operators and regional teams to ensure smooth delivery. · Collaboration & Consistency: Work with the Senior Possession Delivery Manager and others to ensure a consistent, efficient approach to managing disruption across the TRU Programme. · Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain effective relationships with industry partners, operators, and councils to ensure alignment and resolve any issues during engineering works. · Readiness & Evaluation: Demonstrate readiness in review sessions, undertake audits, contingency planning, and conduct post-event evaluations to capture lessons learned for continuous improvement. · Support & Development: Assist in developing business cases for additional customer facilities and support with any interfacing non-TRU engineering works, ensuring consistency in service delivery. About you: · Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships quickly and work collaboratively with colleagues across diverse teams. A professional, switched-on approach is essential to engage stakeholders and maintain effective communication throughout the TRU Programme. · Proven experience of influencing teams in customer-focused, fast-paced environments, with a strong track record of engaging colleagues and stakeholders to achieve the highest standards of service delivery. · In-depth knowledge of railway geography, infrastructure, operations, and train planning processes, with a solid understanding of the complexities of engineering disruptions and customer impact. · Demonstratable experience of delivering projects in an organised and efficient manner, with the ability to work independently and take initiative. · Exceptional influencing skills, with a history of working cross-functionally and managing relationships with senior stakeholders to deliver outcomes. · GCSE Math's and English, or equivalent, and a commitment to complete a Chartered Institute of Railway Operations (CIRO) Qualification, Level 3 or higher.
