Creating Safer Neighbourhoods The importance of feeling safe and happy where you live, and being part of a strong, supportive local community cannot be underestimated. We’re working hard to enhance and improve neighbourhoods across the district – could you be part of a team to help us achieve this? Our Neighbourhood Services and Community Safety team are on the look out for a passionate and dedicated person to be part of our response to reports of anti-social behaviour (ASB). We work really closely with some brilliant partners, such as the local police, rangers and parish councils and of course our local communities – looking at ways to increase the feeling of safety, but importantly helping to prevent anti-social behaviour in the first place. This is an exciting and varied role, and you’ll have the opportunity to really make a difference to people’s lives. If you’re able to build excellent relationships with a range of people including elected members, partners, and residents then this could be the job for you. A background in community safety or housing and support services would be a great addition, and we’d be really keen to hear from you if you have experience of working collaboratively with other agencies as part of a coordinated team. What can we promise you? You’ll work with a friendly and supportive team, who really care about the work they do. You’ll have a varied and interesting role – no two days are the same plus you’ll have some of the best terms in local government. You will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB), Police Vetting check via the Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS) and hold a full driving license.
