Overview:
The MRC Medicines Development Fellowship Scheme offers a unique opportunity for four Clinical Research Training Fellows (CRTF) (ST3+, Pre-PhD), working closely with an academic and industry partner, to develop and undertake PhD Research.
This bespoke scheme between four UK Universities and four industry partners will enable 'without walls' training of pre-doctoral clinical fellows and clinician scientists. It will cover the full medicines development pathway with the principles of clinical pharmacology at its heart. The scheme supports medical fellows from across all specialities (adult and paediatric), who will be future leaders in either industry or academia, to deliver world-class medicines development.
Each Fellow will have a PhD Supervisory team in their university and an industry-based PhD supervisor with their industry partner. Specific advice and support will be provided by members of the Programme Management Board. Additionally, Fellows will receive mentorship from senior academics who are not directly connected with the Programme within their HEI and from the Scheme’s Clinician Scientist Fellows.
Fellows will also have access to modern clinical research facilities in the Institutions and state-of-the-art technologies through all partners. The scheme includes a bespoke teaching programme responsive to the Fellow’s specific learning needs and developments in the research environment.
