Based in the heart of Chester City Centre, Abbey School is an Independent Special School for young people with autism aged 4-19 years who may have additional learning difficulties and behaviours that challenge.
About the post:
As a Learning Mentor, you will play a key role in providing tailored support to pupils with special educational needs. Your work will be instrumental in helping these young people achieve their full potential and overcome challenges in their educational journey. This is a permanent, full-time post (term-time only), and we are seeking to appoint as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work with pupils both individually and in small groups supporting them to overcome barriers to learning, delivering teaching, providing positive behaviour support and delivering other focused interventions.
* Work as part of a class team, under the direction of the class teacher and trans-disciplinary colleagues, to deliver effective and appropriate teaching, learning and behaviour support in all areas of school life.
* Monitor and track progress, providing regular feedback as needed.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
