Community Use is the team that works hard to ensure most of the Halls, Community Centres, and Schools in Fife are available for everyone to enjoy learning, leisure, life, and cultural events. Together with amazing partners, we deliver a fantastic programme of inclusive pursuits including physical activity & sport, performing arts, arts & crafts, cookery, modern languages, and vocational training.
Based at Dunfermline Learning Campus, you will be responsible for supporting the operation and delivery of Community Use programmes. You will ensure that all halls, rooms, and facilities are set up in accordance with the booking requirements, including the removal and storage of chairs and tables, erecting and dismantling stages, platforms, and sports equipment, while following health and safety procedures. You will also ensure that all facilities are opened and secured at prescribed times while using fire alarm and security systems, responding to any incidents or complaints, and documenting these accordingly.
You will engage with customers and user groups in an appropriate manner, ensuring that Council service provision is a positive experience for all facility users. You will undertake some front-line duties within Reception, including maintaining registers and waiting lists, answering telephone calls, controlling building access, directing customers, and resolving complaints and enquiries as needed.
There are 2 positions, and their normal working week can include evenings and weekends depending on opening hours and bookings. The standard rotas for the 2 positions are:

The Person
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with good customer service skills and experience of working with members of the public. They should understand Health & Safety regulations and have manual handling skills. Ideally, the candidate will have some working knowledge of fire safety regulations, risk assessments, building compliance requirements, and pool plant room operations.
The successful applicant must also:
* Be assertive, confident, and levelheaded when dealing with people at all levels.
* Be flexible and able to work on their own initiative.
* Have excellent team working skills.
* Able to provide a regular and effective service.
* Be methodical and well-organised.
* Qualifications and/or experience in working in a leisure environment would be an advantage.
* Have IT skills to be able to use any required computer systems.
Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
