Responsibilities:
1. Ensuring that each of the manufacturing sites produce safe, legal, authentic and high-quality foods to specification whilst maintaining standards in budget control and customer satisfaction.
2. Putting Staff Welfare and Food Safety first in all decisions.
3. Retailer and BRCGS Audit Management.
4. Participate / lead customer and third-party audits, completion of root cause and corrective actions.
5. Stay up to date on evolving food safety laws and industry best practices, updating internal protocols as needed.
6. Completion of gap analysis work for industry, customer, and legislation requirements ensuring the business remains in a compliant state ongoing.
7. Keeping up to date and Horizon scanning for food safety and legality concerns.
8. Lead and manage the Quality functions on site.
9. Chair monthly technical meetings.
10. Develop and maintain a positive proactive relationship with key retail and export customers.
11. Leading implementation and improvement projects around quality, food safety and compliance. Risk assessment generation, review, and implementation as required.
12. Provide technical guidance, training, and support to other departments, developing awareness and understanding of technical issues.
13. Participate with the internal audit program through completion of audits and updates required.
14. Develop, implement, and maintain food safety policies and procedures.
15. Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to food safety protocols and hygiene standards.
16. Co-ordinate and Manage HACCP Team and Activities.
The Ideal Person:
* Experience in similar role.
* BRCGS audit experience.
* Level 3 food safety qualification.
* Level 3 HACCP qualification.
* Internal auditing qualification.
* Effective and proven project management skills.
* Strong people and time management skills.
