Job overview
We are recruiting for a Digital Specialist (Networking and Telephony) who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
You will support monitoring and reporting on all telecoms systems, network switches and devices, maintaining patching levels and documenting action plans for resolution.
You will be responsible for working with the project lead on any new projects/programmes and any BAU upgrades/projects from a 3rd line perspective.
You will support the delivery of new and changed network and telecoms services to continually help improve the efficiency of the Digital Department and in turn provide a more efficient service to the Trust.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide advice and assist the Digital Networks and Telecoms Lead within the organisation and ensure effective delivery of network and telecoms services.
2. Ensure quality implementation and support service are provided, conforming to NHS, government and/or industry standards.
3. Work as part of the on-call out of hours rota for networks and telecom’s team.
4. Provide support to trust projects, delivering against an agreed work plan.
5. Ensure that all network and telecoms hardware and software meet security requirements identified by the Trust, the NHS, and other pertinent organisations.
6. Review helpdesk support calls to identify repetitive problems that could be resolved by developing a solution to improve the efficiency of support services.
7. Contribute to the creation and development of a “Knowledge base” ensuring it is updated regularly.
8. Participate in team, project, or any other meetings where appropriate.

Person specification
Qualifications / Training
* Cisco Certified Network Administrator or equivalent
* Degree or relevant experience
* ITIL Foundation (service)
Previous Experience
* Minimum of 2 years working in an IT Infrastructure environment
* Experience with a company having over 2000 endpoints
* Experience of working in an IT support environment
* Experience of physical cable patching
* Knowledge of Digital Health strategies within the NHS
* Experience working with enterprise digital networks
* Experience working with telecom systems such as VoIP, Netcall, Cloud providers, Avaya
Skills
* CCNA or equivalent
* Network monitoring tools
* Switches/routers/firewalls/Wireless
* VoIP systems
* Cloud-based telephony
Knowledge
* Cisco or equivalent network infrastructures
* Switch & firewall configurations & operating systems
* Wireless networks including Controllers & Access Points
* Port Security tools (e.g. Cisco ISE)
* Network monitoring tools (e.g. Solarwinds)
