Themodities business is always interesting and varied, involving physical assets and enabling economic activities throughout the world. The global political environment in the last 3 years has been challenging for our clients across many of our asset classes, increasing the demand for robust but flexible IT systems which we rely on to transact and manage risk.
Citi are now one of the largestmodities players in the banking sector, having grown rapidly over the past five years and we have ambitious plans to further develop ourmodities platform. Our technology challenges are therefore fast-moving and varied.
Ourmodities technology teamprises some 350 people across London, Houston, Pune & Singapore. Our IT teams are organised to support the key business operations of Pricing, Risk Management, Trade Lifecycle, Electronic Trading, Market Data and Data Analytics.
What we do
1. The team develops and supports a strategic platform which calculates, manages, and stores intra-day and EOD risk data for front office trading using cutting edge technologies - Microsoft Orleans and NET6.
2. Our roles offer motivated candidates the chance to engage with our trading, quants and sales teams in an agile way and learn the vital role that risk plays across a wide range ofmodities financial and physical products and we offer the chance to gain experience of real-time pricing and risk techniques.
3. As the business has expanded in recent years, we have embarked on an ambitions e-engineering program across our application estate. We are retiring legacy applications, modernising and rationalising our technology stack in order to provide quicker time to market for new products and faster trading capability in a market increasingly delineated by technology capability.
What you will do
4. The role is for a VP level Lead Application Developer within themodities Technology Front Office Risk team.
5. Interface directly with traders and quants to gather and define business requirements.
6. Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint.
7. Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding.
8. Contribute to the re-engineering, development and enhancement of a wide range of risk management tools.
9. Adhere to and continuously improve our processes and SDLC in a fast-moving environment.
10. Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
11. Developprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to aplish business goals.
12. Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions.
13. Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary.
What you will bring to the role
14. Expert skills in building Distributed Systems.
15. Extensive relevant experience in designing and architecting Risk system (preferably in .NET)
16. Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
17. Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbalmunication.
18. Knowledge of Risk System (Front Office or downstream, preferablymodities)
Bonus points for
19. Knowledge / prior experience with Microsoft Orleans is desirable.
20. Good understanding of Quant models.
Education:
21. Degree/University educated (master's preferred) or equivalent experience in a similar role.
