Job Description
Dlala Studios is seeking a lead programmer to join our award-winning team for the development of future titles.
You will be responsible for leading the team in producing low error, well optimised code. Use your expertise and experience to help your team of programmers develop their own skills, you must guide, mentor and manage performance.
As well as steering the team, you will plan, develop and maintain a wide range of game focused features, systems and development tools.
Main Responsibilities
* Define the technical vision and plan its technical roadmap
* Work with other department leads to define milestone/sprint goals and deliverables
* Assign tasks to the programming team, setting reasonable deadlines
* Anticipate risks and propose solutions to complex issues
* Provide technical oversight by planning and reviewing code
* Design, implement, and maintain systems and tools to support both gameplay and development
* Write clear, maintainable, well-structured highly functional code
* Work with existing code to fix bugs
* Profile and optimize to remove bottlenecks
* Sync with the CTO, providing meaningful project updates
* Mentor, motivate and guide the programming team
* Manage team performance
About You
* Significant industry experience, including meaningful time spent demonstrating technical leadership
* Worked on at least 2 console/PC titles throughout the development lifecycle
* Expertise in C#
* Professional experience demonstrating proficiency in algorithm design, understanding of complexity, and software architecture and design
* A good understanding of game technology, Unity Engine proficiency is a must
* Proven mentorship and interpersonal skills
* Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate well with all disciplines, break down complex issues for various audiences
* Experience working with small to medium sized teams

Location:
This is a hybrid role, allowing remote working and/or working from the studio in, Witham, Essex.
Salary:
£65,000 - 75,000 (DOE)
