A vacancy has become available for a Technical and Design Co-ordinator to join our Technical Team in Fivemiletown. The successful person will take ownership for the development of new samples, with the aim of achieving the winning or highest technical score in all tenders.
Responsibilities
1. Schedule and monitor the development and approval of samples, and tendering with close liaison with key stakeholders in the technical process.
2. Support the tender process by reading and understanding tender documentation, attending meetings, gathering samples and advising offshore and in-house manufacturing teams on the product.
3. Provide garment specifications and CAD drawings for all products and maintain and update design documentation.
4. Gather technical data for tender opportunities and organize the testing of fabrics and products.
5. Ensure samples are made to the correct specifications and sealed samples are checked against garment specifications.
6. Provide technical documentation and samples for tender submission.
7. Assist in technical write-up pieces as part of a pre-qualification questionnaire or Invitation to Tender bid.
8. Assist the Sales team with special tasking and inquiries from existing and potential customers.
9. Respond to and resolve issues as they arise with help from the appropriate stakeholder.
10. Source the fabric, trims and packaging required for all sampling requirements and ensure their arrival ahead of sample production.
11. Manage sample stock, ensuring availability.
12. Ensure (as far as is possible) that products are within customer's quality expectations, safety regulations and company standards.
13. Co-ordinate the production of garment specifications to match product design.
14. Meet with appropriate fabric and trim suppliers and attend exhibitions when appropriate.

Requirements
Essential
1. Previous experience in the design of garments.
2. Proficient in use of computerized design packages, eg Illustrator CS2/ Photoshop.
3. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
4. Customer-facing experience.
Desirable
1. A Third level qualification in Fashion or Textiles Design.
2. Experience of garment technology/ quality control in this field.
