Job summary DCHS is looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused individual to join our finance team based at Walton Hospital in Chesterfield. The Assistant System Accountant role will support our financial controls and processes to ensure the efficiency and integrity of our financial reporting is maintained. The role will support the Systems and Reporting Accountant across a range of duties, ensuring we develop and maximise the use of our general ledger system (Unit 4). The role offers great scope for initiative and development. This is a part- time position 18.75 hrs Fixed term contract for 6 months. Provide assistance to the System and Reporting Accountant in the maintenance of the Trust's Chart of Accounts, ledger and reporting hierarchy. Ensure the integrity of the financial system is maintained and that all feeder systems and processes are accurately recorded. Support in the month end and year end reporting processes, particularly with the Agreement of Balances process with other NHS providers. Manage access levels and access rights to the finance system. Provide adhoc support and advice on use of the finance system to colleagues in the department and wider organisation. Act as a point of liaison for the shared services provided services (accounts payable, payroll etc) in relation to financial system matters.
