About the role:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Research Governance Manager to join our Research Governance and Compliance Team. In this pivotal position, you will support and guide staff and students engaged in health and social care research at the University of Bath. You will play a key role in overseeing clinical research studies, ensuring compliance with the UK Framework for Health and Social Care Research, and providing expert advice in research ethics.
Key responsibilities:
* Processing applications, overseeing and maintaining records for sponsored studies in compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Conducting monitoring audits for compliance and reporting findings.
* Publicising research trials and compiling annual reports.
* Administering registration of clinical trials on public databases.
About you:
Our ideal candidate will have the following qualities:
* Expert Knowledge: A strong understanding of research ethics governance processes, particularly within a research-intensive environment, and experience with the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research.
* Detail-Oriented: Proven ability to review research ethics applications and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining meticulous records for sponsored studies.
* Strong Communicator: Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively conveying changes in policies and providing clear guidance to staff and students.
* Organizational Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, including providing secretarial support for committees, scheduling meetings, and preparing agendas and reports.
* Training Abilities: Experience in developing and delivering training to diverse stakeholders, fostering a culture of compliance and ethical research practices.
* Proactive Attitude: A proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing solutions, along with a commitment to staying current with relevant regulations and best practices.
Essential qualifications:
* Strong understanding of research ethics governance in a research-intensive environment.
* Experience with the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research.
