Requirements:
* Must have experience in clinical Psychology.
* Experience of working with seriously obese people and/or Tier weight management service.
* Experience of running groups and one-to-one.
Job Purpose:
The successful candidate will provide a specialist Clinical Psychology service within the Tier 3 Weight Management pathway. This role involves supporting residents of Croydon borough who present with complex obesity and related health comorbidities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing expert psychological assessments, developing and delivering tailored treatment interventions aligned to NICE guidelines and evidence-based practice for the management of obesity.
* Leading individual and group therapeutic sessions, both in-person and remotely (via platforms such as MS Teams), utilising diverse psychological interventions.
* Formulating complex psychological management plans collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support patients in achieving sustainable weight loss and lifestyle modifications.
* Making clinical decisions regarding treatment pathways, using a variety of theoretical models, while carefully considering each patient's historical, emotional, developmental, and psychosocial contexts.
* Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, local community groups, and stakeholders to improve accessibility, inclusivity, and effectiveness of the service, especially in reaching under-served communities.
* Advising multidisciplinary teams on psychological aspects of patient management and contributing expert insight during case discussions.
* Actively participating in audit, research, and quality-improvement activities related to obesity treatment, ensuring continuous service improvement.
* Ensuring compliance with IR35 regulations and NHS Trust guidelines, framework RM6281, and adhering strictly to Trust policies and procedures including confidentiality and data protection standards.
