Role De Montfort University (DMU) is seeking an Engagement, Projects and Compliance Officer to play a pivotal role in advancing the university's commitment to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI). This role involves establishing and nurturing relationships while ensuring that DMU remains compliant with UK policy and regulations related to EDI. The Engagement, Projects and Compliance Officer will support, manage, and report on various EDI projects across the university, working closely with the EDI Charters and Awards Lead and the EDI Data, Strategy and Governance Lead to provide a comprehensive and inclusive range of services and support. Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including staff Networks and Student Officers, will be crucial part of this role. Including, developing and coordinating a range of surveys and consultations to assess EDI progress and feedback by ensuring thorough monitoring, analysis and distribution of the data and evidence collected. Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will be an experienced relationship builder, skilled in maintaining vital records to ensure DMU’s compliance with EDI regulations and policies. They will manage a variety of EDI projects, collaborating closely with the EDI Charters and Awards Lead, the Data, Strategy, and Governance Lead, staff networks, and student officers to deliver impactful EDI events and initiatives. Responsibilities include designing and facilitating EDI training, partnering with marketing teams to increase awareness, and coordinating internal and external EDI communications. Strong communication skills and a deep understanding of the Equality Act 2010 are essential to ensure EDI remains central to learning and development for both staff and students. In addition to these duties, the postholder will manage projects, action plans, and budgets, work with EDI team members and stakeholders, and deliver reports on group and network activities, including those of EDI Champions. They will respond to compliance-related queries, maintain a schedule of deadlines, attend staff network meetings, and coordinate EDI training and resources.
