The post holder will be responsible and accountable for delivering and influencing the delivery of a defined service. In doing so, they will support the senior management team to deliver strategic targets and be responsible for the operational management of the service. They will work to professional and regulatory body codes, standards and guidance always ensuring that their practice is grounded in evidence-based theoretical and practical knowledge.
They will be responsible for developing new and innovative practices responding to emerging knowledge and techniques. Responsible for the development and delivery of high standard clinical services by providing strong, effective leadership and management.
They will work in partnership with senior nurses and AHP colleagues supporting clinical practice and clinical governance. The post holder will also demonstrate advanced management skills and provide support and advice to service users, parents/carers, staff, managers and other agencies.

The Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) is the main provider of Mental Health and Learning Disability services in Leeds. We also provide specialist inpatient services in York and some highly specialised services across the country. Job responsibilities
* To lead and present complex, sensitive and challenging professional, managerial and clinical communication processes that may impact on service users, carers, staff, the organisation, agencies and members of the public, where there are barriers to understanding e.g. service development/changes/care pathways.
* Corporately responsible for the operational delivery of the service and for ensuring the delivery of the clinical pathways.
* Able to demonstrate a high level of competency in their approach to capacity management, performance management including analysing/reporting complex information, policy practice and standards implementation and resource (HR, finance and estates) management.
* To provide expert clinical and managerial leadership and role modeling to the teams they are working with.
* Act as a clinical expert in providing advice direction and leadership to Clinical and Professional Leads and the teams. Will ensure adherence to policy and procedures, new developments and managing change and communicate such decisions positively and appropriately to staff throughout the service with regular communication/feedback to senior managers.
* The post holder will make autonomous decisions regarding prioritisation and utilisation of locality resources. Utilising judgment in complex situations e.g unexpected service demands.
* Manage the delegated budget for the team and support the head of service to manage the overall service budget where appropriate.
* Accountable for the provision of specialist clinical advice on care planning and patient care.

* RMN, DipOT/BScOT ,DipSW
Skills
* Proven leadership/management experience at an advanced level which has a positive impact/created change within service.
Knowledge
* Able to demonstrate a high level of competency in their approach to caseload and capacity management, performance management including analysing/reporting complex information, policy practice and standards implementation and resource (HR, finance and estates) management.
