We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Physiotherapist with proven clinical skills to join our team on a 12 month secondment. The post is based on Kings Lodge Neurological Rehabilitation Unit at the Florence Nightingale Community hospital. You will work alongside an established MDT including 2 part time specialist physiotherapists.
The Role Will Involve The Following:
* Using specialised skills to complete assessment and treatment of patients with complex neurological presentations including spasticity management, seating, 24 hour postural management and complex discharge planning.
* Developing and delivering a comprehensive training programme to all members of the MDT.
* Training and development of more junior staff including qualified physiotherapists and therapy assistants, including completing annual appraisals.
* Deputising for Band 7 Physiotherapists in the day to day management of the physiotherapy team including attending meetings.
* Providing assessment and treatment to patients with complex neurological presentations, including discharge planning, seating assessments, 24 hour postural management and spasticity management.
* Providing support, guidance, training and evaluation of qualified and unqualified staff, working with the nursing team and other members of the MDT.
* Ensuring professionalism and excellent communication with staff, patients and relatives in routine and complex circumstances, including holding difficult conversations.
