Eden Brown Synergy has an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Manager to join an established Children's Residential Care Group providing residential support for children. The Home accommodates children ages 11 - 17 years, registered for Learning Disabilities.
The Purpose of this role:
The Deputy Manager would be required to assist the Registered Manager in achieving the aims and objectives of the Statement of Purpose. To Deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager.
The Deputy Manager would be required to support and manage the staff, to enable them to meet the needs of the children and young people. To undertake direct work with children and young people as appropriate. To be the responsible person in managing child protection concerns and complaints. To work in partnership with other professionals to achieve optimum outcomes for young people. To offer supervision and support to other staff in line with Quality Standards.
Requirements for this role:
Shift Pattern - This position would require flexibility from the Deputy Manager as in Days, Night (Wake or sleep in), weekend and bank holidays.
Qualifications required:
1. Diploma Level 3 Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
2. Willingness to complete Diploma Level 5 Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care (Desirable: a completed Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management or working towards)
3. Full UK Driving Licence
Experience Required:
1. At least 2 years' experience in a previous similar role as Deputy Manager in a LD Home for Children and Young People
2. Experience of acting as an appropriate adult, Interviewing, Performing on-call duties and DSL/DSO
Knowledge and Skills required:
1. Knowledge of CHR 2015 and the QS, the Children Act and other relevant legislation
2. Awareness of Equal Opportunities/ADP issues
3. Understanding the needs of looked-after children including managing challenging behaviour
4. Team-building skills
5. Supervision skills, ability to manage teams effectively and to motivate and enthuse staff
6. Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with excellent organisational skills
7. Counselling skills and Training skills
8. Recruitment experience
