Orthopaedics – Full time Team Leader
We are looking for a dynamic, experienced and motivated individual to take on the role of Band 7 Team Leader for The Orthopaedic Therapy Team. The Team are based across 2 sites; elective surgery at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and Trauma Orthopaedics at Peterborough City Hospital. This post will involve operationally managing a large dynamic team across both sites, which consists of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Band 3/4 Therapy assistants.

Experience of working as a Band 6 within Orthopaedics is essential for this role, along with evidence of learning within this specialism, as well as skills in the supervision and management of others.
The successful candidate will work alongside our Service Lead, current Team Lead and Clinical Specialists and should role model excellent leadership, communication and resilience skills. The role will require effective time management to balance the operational responsibilities as well as the clinical demands of a busy and demanding orthopaedic caseload.
Healthcare is a 7 day service and therefore the expectation will be for you to support our Orthopaedic weekend service.

The Highly Specialist Physiotherapist (Team Lead) for the Orthopaedic Therapy Team provides day to day management of the staff within the team, overseeing the operational performance of the team and appropriate use of resources. They are responsible for the delivery of human resource key quality performance indicators. They will be responsible for deputising for the Orthopaedic Therapy Service Lead as required.
In addition to the managerial responsibilities the post holder will work using an enhanced level of clinical practice applying specialist knowledge and skills in the field of orthopaedics. They will assess and treat a specialist complex caseload of patients across both the elective and trauma services.
The post holder will contribute to service development, audit and research to deliver on best practice evidence-based care in line with trust and national priorities in collaboration with the Orthopaedic Therapy Service Lead and Highly Specialist Therapists.
