SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Scunthorpe
Salary: £83.33 - £90.00 Per Day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: After February 2025 Half Term
Contract Type: Full-time

GSL Education are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant in Scunthorpe to provide essential support to students in an inclusive and nurturing school environment. As a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will play a key role in helping students access the curriculum, develop essential life skills, and build confidence in their abilities. Your support will be crucial in ensuring each child reaches their full potential.
SEN TA Responsibilities
* Provide tailored one-to-one and small-group support for students with SEN.
* Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
* Support students with Autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and other additional needs.
* Help students engage in classroom activities and promote independence.
* Work closely with teachers and SENCO to create a positive and structured learning environment.
* Support students with sensory and communication needs.
* Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
* Assist with personal care and mobility needs when required.
* Encourage positive behaviour and social development.
* Uphold safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.
Requirements Needed For a Special Needs Teaching Assistant
* Previous experience working with children with SEN as a SEN Teaching Assistant is highly desirable.
* A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students.
* Knowledge of Autism, ADHD, and other special educational needs.
* A degree in Education, Psychology or in a similar field.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to adapt and respond to individual student needs.
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
* An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
