About the role
As an Assistant Branch Manager you will support the team to deliver an exceptional customer experience, whether you’re developing colleagues, welcoming our customers in branch or providing information on our products and services, you’ll always deliver an outstanding customer experience every step of the way making sure that what we do is always in our customer’s best interests.
Working alongside the Branch Manager you will support your colleagues to deliver an exceptional experience by:
* Leading and inspiring the team to do their best work, balancing their needs and that of the business by maintaining a culture where colleagues feel developed, motivated and compelled to achieve fair and positive customer outcomes.
* Continuously improve ways to enhance the customer experience and service standards in your branch.
* Support the delivery of the commercial plan by ensuring the right products and solutions are delivered through the right channel for our customers making them feel YBS has their interests at heart. Use local knowledge and the community to generate business opportunities.
* Identify and deliver fair and compliant outcomes for all customers including those with potentially vulnerable circumstances.
* Maintain your competence under the Society’s Training and Competency framework by owning your own development in order to support the customer demand in branch.

"Norwich is the hub branch of East Anglia. We have a large, highly experienced, and diverse team of colleagues who are all passionate about supporting customers with their variety of needs at first point of contact. Being one of the larger branches across the society means we get to try out lots of new things, and new ways of working. This means you will have exposure to a variety of business areas through the support we provide to the wider business, such as telephony and postal queries to name a few. In Norwich you will receive training through a dedicated onboarding journey which will enable you to service our customers’ needs and requirements through multiple channels at first point of contact, including face to face, post, online and telephone queries. As well as day to day tasks and activities, we strongly support individual personal growth and development. There will be opportunities to engage and work with other branches across the network, as well as taking part in community activities both in and out of the branch".
About you
You will have experience in delivering a fantastic customer experience, alongside previous supervisory or management experience. This’ll be coupled with;
* Previous experience of working in customer-facing sales environment.
* Experience of building strong relationships with your customers.
* The ability to work with limited supervision.
* Excellent attention to detail.
