As part of our ongoing global expansion we are seeking a motivated Contract Specialist/Manager to join our team. Position Summary The position of Contract Specialist/Manager is responsible for management of contracts for goods, services, and financial agreements. These agreements are to support R&D, Production, Supply Chain and Field Maintenance requirements. This is a flexible on-site role in Oxford. Requirements Listed below are the major responsibilities of the role and a brief description of some of the key tasks to be performed. This list is not totally exhaustive: Major Responsibilities Under direction from the Head of Procurement the Contract Specialist/Manager will be responsible for: Contract management Contract preparation, negotiation, execution and management; managing contracts from initiation through to closure, including preparation of contract amendments, extensions and terminations Review and evaluation of proposal plans and contract specifications; developing and presenting contract negotiation strategies to stakeholders; drafting contractual agreements, including the revision of existing contracts, and agreeing them with contractors Negotiation of contract terms, conditions and pricing, optimising contract value; tracking and managing the performance and expiration of contracts; ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations Assess contract performance to identify risks and ensure resolution Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract records and documentation Provide business advice and guidance on contract matters to internal teams. Dispute Management Coordinate with legal and compliance departments to address contract disputes or issues Market Engagement Conduct market research to inform procurement strategies and decisions Stakeholder Management Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to understand their requirements and manage their expectations Supplier Relationship Management Manage supplier relationships strategically and act as the supplier point of contact Continuous Improvement Continuously improve processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness Adhere to the letter and spirit of OrganOx’s Code of Conduct and all other company policies Skills & Experience Knowledge / understanding of the medical supply chain Knowledge of legal requirements involved with contracts Demonstrable understanding of contract management processes Demonstrable experience drafting contractual agreements and terms, with the ability to produce contract management related technical reports to a high standard in terms of technical content, presentation and written English Excellent communication, negotiation and communication skills. Able to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally Attention to detail and the ability to spot errors and inconsistencies. Strong problem-solving skills with a commitment to continuous improvement. Ability to evaluate risk and make recommendations. Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team. Collaborate with internal stakeholders across the company including Production, Commercial, Sales, Quality, Engineering and Finance. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Adaptable, proactive and resourceful with the ability to thrive in a continuously evolving environment Computer literate to a high level in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word and Excel. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in law, business administration, or relevant field; or equivalent experience Proven work experience (minimum 3 years) as a Contract Specialist or similar within the medical technology or pharmaceutical industry Professional qualification such as CIPS, highly desirable A job description does not imply that the duties stated are the only ones to be performed by the job holder.
