We're expanding our team at Dimensions and are looking for Male Support Workers in the Bricket Wood, St Albans area. We provide essential support to individuals with autism, learning disabilities, and complex needs in their homes, ensuring they live life to the fullest.
What We're Offering:
- £13.20 per hour.
- Choose from 7.5 to 37.5 hours per week permanent contracts.

- A full UK driving licence and access to your own car are required (manual or automatic)
Your Role:
In this role, you'll provide support to individuals with autism, OCD, and complex needs. The people we support love to live life to the fullest, and we're looking for someone who can match their energy and enthusiasm. You'll be working in a building with six modern flats, a sensory room, and even an ensuite room for staff sleep-ins!
You'll be primarily supporting one individual, but you will also be flexible to support across three other gentlemen in this home when needed. Whether it's assisting with daily tasks, helping people work towards personal goals, or managing behaviours of distress with a calm and patient approach, you'll be making a real impact every day. Your responsibilities could include:
- Supporting individuals in managing behaviours of distress and using strategic behaviour management techniques such as de-escalation and exit strategies when behaviours of distress arise.
- Take part in their interests like swimming, bowling, trampolining, and outdoor walks.
- Helping the individuals we support to maintain relationships with their families, encouraging visits, communication, and involvement in family events.
You'll work both in the community and at home, providing 2:1 or 1:1 support depending on the individual's needs.
Shift Patterns:
Shifts are typically running from 7am to 10pm, including sleep-ins. You'll be required to work alternative weekends and occasional bank holidays. We work hard to provide a four-week rota in advance.
What You'll Need:
- A full UK driving licence and your own car (both manual and automatic)
- A commitment to providing person-centred support.
- Experience working with autism, learning disabilities, or behaviours of distress (previous experience is essential)
- Strong communication skills to support people who don't use words to communicate.
