An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual who has a keen interest in patient safety to join the Trust's Corporate Patient Safety Team. The role involves working with colleagues in all specialties and disciplines to support patient safety across the whole organisation.
You will support the team's Lead and Matron in delivering the Trust's Patient Safety Strategy. The role would suit a person who has an interest in patient safety, has a strong focus on team working and with excellent communication skills.

Main Duties of the Job
The post holder will be responsible for promoting patient safety across the organisation through liaising with clinical and non-clinical staff, providing education and training, and supporting with the systematic reviews of patient safety incidents.
Candidates will require excellent analytical and IT/database management skills as well as the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. He/she will be able to work autonomously but also part of a small team.

Special Skills and Knowledge
* Knowledge of the Health Service and current national initiatives, particularly in relation to Clinical Governance and patient safety
* Knowledge and skills relating to incident management systems
* Excellent communication, presentational, training and report writing skills
* Skills required to undertake evaluations and/or audit
* Skills in the analysis and interpretation of information
* Ability to influence/persuade/motivate others
* Knowledge of CQC lines of enquiry
* Advanced Microsoft Office training (specifically Word and Excel)
Experience
* Experience of working in the NHS in a professional/managerial/specialist role
* Experience of advising and liaising with staff at all levels, preferably in the NHS and academic institutions
* Clear understanding of the issues prevailing around clinical governance
* Experience of project management or leading a change project
Qualifications
* Relevant 1st level degree
* Evidence of continuous professional development
