An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Careers Adviser to be part of the Newcastle Careers Team, as the result of a promotion.
We are looking for Careers Advisers who are innovative and enthusiastic about working with vulnerable young people and those with SEND, who understand the needs of young people as they transition from education and have, or are willing to work towards, a level 6 in Careers Information Advice and Guidance.
The role will include a mixed caseload of targeted young people in mainstream schools, young people with EHC plans in special and mainstream schools and post 16 settings, as well as NEETs.
1. The Newcastle Careers Team undertakes targeted work in mainstream and special schools with pupils likely to become NEET, including those with SEND.
2. Offers a front-line service at Work and Thrive Central and other community locations to young people 16-19 needing advice and support about their future options.
3. Supports schools with their delivery of CEIAG.
4. Undertakes follow-up of young people who are NEET.
5. Support the School Inclusion agenda and are part of the Team around the School support.
