A well-qualified, passionate and dynamic Physics teacher who will inspire and challenge the students to think and learn in a supportive and positive environment is required to join our thriving department. This vacancy has arisen due to a long-standing member of the Physics team taking the decision to retire at the end of the academic year.
Sciences are a popular choice for our students with almost 70% of the Sixth Form cohort taking one or more Science at A-level or at Higher Level as part of the IB Diploma Programme. There are currently 68 students studying Physics at this level.
The successful applicant will be part of a team of 11 dedicated professionals, including three specialist Physics Technicians, who deliver engaging ‘hands-on’ lessons. The department is extremely well-resourced and full support with induction and continuing professional development is provided.
Experience or ability to teach another Science is desirable but is not a requirement of the post.
All teachers are expected to contribute to the rich co-curricular life of the College, but there are no residential duties.
Applicants should specify in their application whether they wish to be considered for the additional Second in Department role. The selection process for the Second in Department role will take place in the summer 2025 term.
