Clinical Negligence Team Leader / Solicitor - 12 Months Fixed Term Contract
Location: Remote/Hybrid – 2 days a week attendance in Manchester (Quarterly Travel to Manchester)
We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Clinical Negligence Team Leader to ensure the delivery of high-quality legal services to clients, managing resources effectively, and promoting the professional development of team members.
As an experienced Team Leader, you will be responsible for the performance and day-to-day operation of the team and the direct supervision and management of its fee earners.
You will drive performance and operational excellence through 1-2-1's and performance reviews to ensure that all processes and practices are being adhered to and key performance indicators are being met/exceeded by all team members.
You will be the technical expert in the team and guide and assist team members on issues that arise during their cases' lifecycles to achieve the best outcomes for our clients. You will also ensure that the team is delivering great client service and performing in line with expected goals and targets in an established, forward-thinking Legal 500 firm.
As an experienced Clinical Negligence Team Leader, you will:
* Ensure that Clinical Negligence processes, ways of working, and lifecycles are adopted and adhered to.
* Provide direct supervision and management of fee earners in conjunction with the Head of Department.
* Conduct regular 1-2-1s in line with the Communication Support Cycle framework.
* Conduct necessary supervisor file reviews.
* Monitor KPI performance including data integrity, inactivity levels, chargeable hours, unpaid bills, lifecycles, and revenue targets.
* Assist in compiling forecast data for monthly billing targets and Doorway Uploads in conjunction with the Head of Department.
* Assist in the Department's annual budgeting process.
* Assist with Departmental projects in relation to system development and improved Management Information.
* Complete day-to-day supervision and automated tasks for the team driven from within the case management system.
* Run and maintain a reduced caseload.
* Manage and investigate complaints in conjunction with key stakeholders.
* Conduct peer review and supervision meetings.
* Carry out projects for the Head of Department as required.
* Authorize the issuing of proceedings and disbursements for the team.
* Maintain the risk register for your individual team.
* Actively participate in departmental business development, including producing and checking web content, articles, SEO content, sourcing new work opportunities, and promoting internal cross referrals.
* Work with the Learning & Development Department to identify areas of improvement and development for team members.
We are looking for someone with the following attributes:
* Grade A Solicitor or equivalent.
* Accreditation is desirable or working towards.
* An ability to deal with clients in a sensitive, professional, and competent way.
* An ability to work on your own initiative within a team environment to achieve results.
* Excellent IT skills, including the ability to work with a case management system and databases.
* Empathy and good listening skills.
* A friendly, co-operative, and collaborative approach to clients and colleagues.
