Our clients, based close to Waterlooville have an exciting opportunity for a Design Manager to join their growing team.
They are a specialist contractor providing the design, supply, and installation of a large range of products including:
* Glazing
* Curtain Walling
* Cladding
* Render
* Steel Frame Systems
Duties & Responsibilities
The Design Manager will work on a total design solution specific to each project. This will be done by ensuring compliance to clients recommendations/requirements and company procedures.
You will be responsible for tasks relating to the project, instructed, and reporting to the Head of Design/Technical.
The Main Duties Of The Role Are As Follows
* Managing a design team.
* Managing the design process using his/her commercial, contractual, programme/time awareness and technical expertise.
* Supporting, understanding, and advising the client as to the requirements and his/her obligations in the development of a building design.
* Encouraging and inspiring designers to produce their best work using their full flair, experience, resources, and talents in a cost-effective way.
* Ensuring the design process recognises current legislation, standards, and codes of practice, where appropriate.
* Ensuring design information is of the right quality and keeps pace with project timescales.
* Striving to eliminate health and safety risks in the design and financial risks during construction.
Required Skills & Experience
* Degree, HND or equivalent, ideally in a design or construction related subject.
* Experience leading a design team
* Experience working within the construction industry
