To support this, we are seeking a dedicated Electro Mechanical Inspector to join our team, focused on inspecting our supplier-factored goods related to pump manufacturing. As an Electro Mechanical Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring that factored goods from our suppliers meet Sulzer's rigorous quality standards. Factored goods include components such as electric motors, mechanical seals, bearings, gearboxes, and control panels - all critical elements in the manufacture of pumps. You will conduct witness inspections, manage non-conformance issues, and collaborate with internal departments to ensure the timely and compliant delivery of these goods. Your main tasks and responsibilities: - Supplier Inspections: Perform in-process, notified, and final inspections at supplier sites for factored goods including electric motors, seals, bearings, and control systems. Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure resolution prior to delivery or establish remedial work plans. - First Off Inspections: Attend all First Off inspections to set the standard for machined components, fabrications, and factored goods, ensuring consistent quality across the board. - Supplier Quality Kick-Off Meetings: Engage in kick-off meetings to ensure suppliers fully understand the quality expectations and requirements for factored goods. - Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to resolve any issues related to supplier quality, ensuring seamless integration of factored goods into the production process. - NCR Management: Notify suppliers of non-conforming items, provide technical guidance, and manage queries to avoid production delays. Maintain up-to-date records of all NCRs. - Auditing: Conduct audits of new suppliers and manage the supplier audit schedule, including in-process audits, to ensure ongoing compliance with quality standards. To succeed in this role, you will need: - Completed an engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications. - Experience in an inspection environment, particularly with electro-mechanical components. - Knowledge and experience with castings, forgings, fabrications, electrical components, and machining. - Relevant industry experience and familiarity with quality standards and practices. - Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis. - A valid UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel.
