The Role
The Team Leader is responsible for overseeing day-to-day working within the team(s). This means: ensuring production is running smoothly; ensuring the health and safety of your team(s); ensuring the quality of your product and the process; ensuring targets are achieved on time; motivating and developing your team(s).
Functions and Responsibilities
* Leads the team(s) that performs a wide variety of assembly tasks involving the use of a variety of machinery and hand tools on the production line.
* Completes work in accordance with relevant documentation and other specifications, ensuring safety, quality and production targets are achieved by self and the team(s).
* Support quality, productivity, and process improvement initiatives.
* Ensure area of work is clean, well-organised and safe; and adheres to Company housekeeping processes.
* Carry out lean production activities.
* Ensure all staff have a clear understanding and comply with the rules, regulations, standards and policies in place.
* Organise and communicate job expectations to team(s).
* Monitors team(s) to ensure objectives/targets are achieved on time.
* Ensure all records are completed correctly and on time.
* Liaise with manager to ensure resource levels are in place to achieve planned activities.
Required Professional Experience
* NVQ Level 3 / Modern Apprenticeship in a related field.
* ILM Level 3 Leadership & Management or equivalent e.g. NVQ L3.
* IOSH qualification or equivalent health and safety qualification.
* Qualified Assessor / Train the Trainer or prepared to study towards.
