To support our continuing growth, we are seeking to appoint a Staff Optometrist in the Vision Centre within the Department of Vision Sciences. The Department is one of eight located within the School of Health & Life Sciences. The School is committed to the pursuit of excellence in teaching, applied research and knowledge transfer.
The Staff Optometrist (0.4FTE) will provide General Ophthalmic Services (GOS) and supervise students during clinical sessions. An experienced clinician, training towards or qualified as an Independent Prescriber, with excellent communication skills and an interest in specialist areas of optometry or orthoptics would be particularly suitable for this role.
The successful candidate will be registered with the General Optical Council to practice in the UK, registered to provide General Ophthalmic Services within the Greater Glasgow and Clyde area and will have post-registration experience. As this role involves Regulated work with Adults and/or Children, the successful candidate will require PVG Scheme membership.
