Long-term Teachers have worked closely with this fantastic special school for a number of years now and they're on the lookout for a new TA to join the team. This lovely special school look after a wide range of special needs & disabilities aged from 4-19.
The work is incredibly rewarding but it is also fairly challenging - they require people who are up for a challenge and are confident in dealing with challenging behaviour. They are such a lovely bunch at the school so you will be ably supported across the school by staff.
The Role
This role is interesting as it's a ‘floating’ position, so you will be expect to provide cover across the school in different classes. Due to this type of position it is is essential that you are flexible and feel confident working with different special needs & disabilities as well as different age groups.
You will be expected to provide general classroom support as well as 1-1 support to specific students. You'll need to be naturally easy to get on with due to providing support across different classes and be a naturally good team player!
You will be expected to:
* Have worked with special needs & disabilities (preferably within a school setting)
* Be flexible & adaptable
* Work well as part of a team
* Provide support inside & outside of the classroom
