Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a QRA-capable Risk Manager to join our busy and expanding Portsmouth-based Real Estate team, working on a range of high-profile construction projects.
Owing to the complex nature of the works involved, this role is suited for Risk Managers from a construction or defence background with proven experience and understanding of risk management processes.
Main Purpose of Role
Implement or support the implementation of an integrated risk management framework across a major construction programme. Responsibilities include:
* Facilitating identification, assessment, and prioritization of threats, opportunities, and issues within the sub-programme.
* Maintaining visibility of threat/opportunity trigger points to facilitate risk cost profiling, timely drawdown of risk budget, or retirement of threats/opportunities.
* Using risk data to inform investment planning.
* Assisting with the identification and recording of measurable and specific management responses, and assessing post-mitigation positions.
* Monitoring overall risk exposure and assessing against the remaining risk budget.
* Proactively managing the completion of management responses to deliver target positions.
* Collaborating with contractors to assess risks they hold and their views on client-held risks impacting them.
* Producing risk reports to communicate threat & opportunity status effectively.
* Conducting quantitative risk assessments (cost and schedule) to inform project contingency levels.
* Demonstrating competence with tools such as PRA, @Risk, Safran, or similar.
* Familiarity with web-based database tools like ARM, Predict, Tableau.
Requirements
Candidates should demonstrate:
* Qualitative and quantitative risk assessment skills.
* Understanding of integrated risk management processes on large programmes.
* Risk workshop facilitation, threat mitigation, opportunity exploitation.
* Proficiency with probabilistic modeling tools (@Risk, PRA, P6 or equivalent).
* Proven experience in risk delivery roles on major projects/programmes.
* Preferred: APM/IRM risk certification.
Excellent communication skills and a commitment to innovative working methods are essential.
Qualifications
* Ideally degree-qualified in a construction-related subject.
* Proven experience in risk management on major construction projects.
* Security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain it is preferred due to the sensitive nature of work.
