R&D Engineering Technician The Opportunity: Within this role you will be working within the R&D team supporting the product prototyping and experimental test activities, predominantly in the areas of liquid fugitive methane (LFM) production, storage and processing. The role will involve the assembly and testing of cryogenic systems and components based on drawings, schematics, and P&ID layouts to enable solutions to move from the concept stage through to manufacture and practical implementation. This will often involve taking responsibility for the testing, troubleshooting and performance data gathering of specific components in support of the wider project work of the team. Skills and Experience: Practical experience of high-pressure (>1barg) fluid systems Experience of experimental testing and rig building Good knowledge of basic thermodynamics principles Materials knowledge for component and pipework assembly EngTech, Advanced/Modern Apprenticeship or similar Engineering-based qualification Support the design, build and test activities of the R&D team Undertake experimental testing activities prescribed by the R&D team Create reports to record the test and data gathering process. Support the troubleshooting of issues with hardware and instrumentation to enable test programmes to run smoothly and generate the necessary data. Report regularly to the Principal Engineer, raising any issues or concerns in a timely manner. Communicate activities with the team in regular meetings and support activity of the group as a whole.
