DescriptionGrade: MMG1 Salary range: 70,000 - 74,000pa (Dependent on experience) plus Excellent Benefits PackageLocation: Hammersmith Depot, Lena Gardens W6 7PY/LUL depot locationsContract Type: London UndergroundOverview of roleWe have a great opportunity for a Depot Plant and Equipment Asset Manager to provide assurance to the Head of Vehicles that London Underground meets the Statutory and Legal compliance for plant and equipment, by managing the maintenance, renewal and provision of new Plant and Equipment within Fleet Depots so that Fleet can safely provide a reliable train service for our customers.Key AccountabilitiesTo assist the Plant and Equipment Manager to deliver maintenance activities, project works and the provision of new and modified equipment to Fleet Depots on behalf of Head of Vehicles. Provide or assist in the provision of technical specifications, scope of works and the approval of detailed designs and drawings. Authority for the control of change through the concession process for equipment that does not meet LU standards. Review of all external Risk Assessments and Method Statements to ensure that they meet the LU QUENSH requirements. Conduct Planned General Inspections and Quality Checks of day-to-day maintenance activities, new works, and projects.To ensure that any new/modified equipment required by the customer is properly funded and controlled to meet required performance, safety, and business standards.Assist the Procurement managers to invite tenders, select, evaluate, and make the final appointment decision on all external contracts and other external specialists necessary to facilitate the maintenance activities and provision of new and modified equipment.Co-ordinate, motivate and direct maintenance teams, contractors, project teams and consultants to ensure that all safety, quality, cost, and programme targets are met and to ensure compliance with Statutory and LUL Standards, policies, and procedures.To provide assurance ensure that all relevant documentation and certification is provided, reviewed, actioned, and stored appropriately in line with LU and Statutory requirements. Manage the day-to-day servicing and fault rectification of plant and equipment to ensure that Fleet maintenance staff have a safe and efficient working environment to deliver a train service.Skills, Knowledge, and Experience SkillsAbility to read and accurately interpret technical documentation (mechanical, electrical drawings and manuals) (Essential)Highly developed written and verbal communication skills coupled with excellent interpersonal skills (Essential)Problem Solving and Analytical skills (Essential)Project Management (Desirable)Commercial Acumen (Desirable)Microsoft Applications intermediate level to use in producing business reports.
