The Multi-Agency Child Protection Team (MACPT) is a new service that brings together professionals from various sectors, including children’s services, health, education, and police, to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. The team are co-located at our two youth justice centres and work closely to provide comprehensive and coordinated child protection responses, ensuring that children and families receive the support they need. By utilising the expertise and resources of multi agencies, the MACPT aims to deliver high-quality responses that protect children from harm and promote their well-being. The Emergency Duty Team (EDT) in Warwickshire provides essential out-of-hours social care services for both adults and children. This service operates during evenings, weekends, and public holidays to handle urgent social care situations that cannot wait until regular office hours. The EDT team is responsible for: Responding to crises involving children and families, including safeguarding concerns. Providing emergency foster care placements. Assisting vulnerable adults in urgent need of support. The team works closely with other social care services and partner agencies to ensure comprehensive support during emergencies. About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and passionate Service Manager, or an experienced Team Manager looking to progress, to lead our Multi-Agency Child Protection Team and EDT service. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Service for Safeguarding Communities. They will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality child protection responses, ensuring that all children and families receive the support they need, as well as high quality responses to children and families out of hours. The successful candidate will only be expected to work during daytime hours. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the Multi-Agency Child Protection Team, ensuring effective collaboration between agencies. Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance service delivery. Monitor and evaluate the performance of the team, tracking key performance indicators and priorities for the service. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and safeguarding standards. Liaise with external agencies and stakeholders to promote a coordinated approach to child protection. Manage budgets and resources effectively to ensure the sustainability of services. Provide regular reports to senior management on the progress and outcomes of the team. Qualifications and Experience: A degree in Social Work. Significant experience in a leadership role within children’s services and extensive experience of child protection. Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage and motivate a team. Experience in multi-agency working and partnership development. Ability to interpret and analyse data. Ability to write reports for senior management boards and present information to a variety of audiences.
