About the Team The Core Accounting team supports the business by creating, validating, and interpreting financial results to ensure strategic objectives are met. Their deep understanding of business operations and products enables them to produce relevant financial information. Working closely with finance business partners, the team interprets budgets and performance trends to measure and report on business success. They also oversee legal entity governance, monthly processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and external audit requirementsall within a culture of continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities As a qualified accountant, you will be responsible for record to report processes and preparation of month end results, including P&l analysis and commentary. You will lead on product area and are the first line of analysis and review, providing valuable support to the finance business partners. The role is key in understanding business performance and allowing the organisation to make informed decisions. As a Management Accountant you will support and mentor our Assistant Management Accountants through their development and studies, providing you with an opportunity to hone your management skills. You will prepare balance sheet reconciliations including the more complex and judgemental areas. Applies complex accounting standards such as IFRS15 / IFRS16. Through your work you will be responsible for identifying areas of process improvement and working with the Finance Managers design improvement and ensure new processes are implement that enhance controls, reduce manual intervention and drive departmental efficiencies. Manipulate large volumes of data through a combination of specialist finance applications and excel. Follows the governance framework of accounting standards, policies, procedures and processes through documentation and application, seeking guidance and specialist expertise where required. Investigates and responds to ad hoc queries promptly and supply with articulate communication and provide analysis for internal and external auditors. Understand trading flows around the group structure and the implications on accounting entries. You will be expected to liaise directly with external auditors, providing clear explanations of areas under your responsibility.
