FULL AND PART TIME HOURS AVAILABLE On Ward D1 you will work part of a multidisciplinary team made up of 8 Gastroenterology Consultants. A specialist dietician and pharmacist. We also have a team of nutrition nurse specialists who work closely with the gastroenterology team. There is ward based training and our clinical director of gastroenterology is supportive of SIMS training.
D1 is a 25 bedded acute ward. Whilst the ward is fast paced, we work as a team to provide a high standard of care to our patients.
We will offer a supportive induction to the ward and ensure, all competencies and training are provided in order for you to the best nurse you can be.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
19. Communicate with patients, carers, family and relatives as part of effective patient care.
20. Liaising with the multi-disciplinary team in relation to patients care and needs.
21. Provides feedback to the department from courses undertaken.
Responsibility for Patient Care
22. Assessing the individual's care needs, developing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of care to meet needs of patients and undertake all forms of care within the clinical environment.
23. Working in partnership with relatives and carers to develop and implement /improve standards of patient care.
24. Liaising with staff from multi-disciplines in matters relating to patient care and equipment relevant to nursing care.
25. Maintain accurate and timely patients records and documentation ensuring confidentiality.
26. To uphold the Trusts dignity and respect standards First Impressions.
27. Ensure that nursing care is appropriate, provided and is consistent with clinical guidelines.
28. Using professional judgements is able to analyse a range of patient conditions and act appropriately.
29. Maintaining high standards of patient care by personal example and professional conduct.
30. Promote the safeguarding of vulnerable patients in line with national and local policy
Planning and organising
31. Responsible for prioritising own workload.
32. As Shift Leader be responsible for discharge planning, liaising with Social Services and for organising safe and effective handover of patients.
33. Actively contribute and participate in the Trusts clinical governance agenda.
