Job Title: Quality Inspector Division: Weir Minerals Locations: Todmorden, Europe, Onsite, Shift Purpose of Role: The Quality Shift Inspector will perform all planned QC inspections for Machine shop and prepare necessary QC reports in support of the Quality Engineer, in addition to performing in-house Inspection, calibration /measuring/testing instruments at planned intervals. This is a multi-skilled role covering both Machine shop and Foundry inspection and as dictated by work volumes you could be assigned to either area. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate with Shop Foremen or Manager to carry out necessary inspection/QC checks of workshop job orders and prepare necessary stage inspection reports Oversee any testing carried out for the shop production requisitions by the means of Patrol Inspection Assumes responsibility for the final inspection and release of workshop job orders after ensuring all QC activities are completed as per the Documentation & Final Inspection check sheet Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) for the discrepant items at each stage of inspection and follow up with Quality Assurance Dept for their close out Preparation of QC reports of completed job orders Current Calibration status maintained for in-house measuring/testing instruments Facilitating 8D investigations Resolving cover for foundry inspection Programming and running FARO arm Programming and running 3D scanner Perform all necessary activities to achieve Quality objectives set for the QA/QC Department Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture. Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: Prior experience in a related or similar role. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organisation.
